Can you swim with a menstrual swimsuit?

Absolutely! A menstrual swimsuit is a hygienic protection that can be worn for sunbathing by the water, but also for swimming in the water. It replaces menstrual protection or can be used in addition. Also, the swimsuit is resistant to chlorine and sea salt, making it suitable for use in pools or the sea.

How does a menstrual swimsuit work?

The period shirt works with an absorbent core like menstrual panties. We tell you everything:

The technical part of our swimsuits is about 1mm thick, it goes up to about 3cm below the waist on the front and 8cm on the back. It is absolutely invisible, there is no external seam to reveal that it is aperiod swimsuit.

Your flow is absorbed and maintained by the absorbent cotton which has the particularity of not swelling on contact with water

The soft PUL film insulates perfectly and prevents any leaks when you get out of the water, so as not to stain your swimsuit.

How long can you keep a menstrual swimsuit?

There are no real rules (!). It will depend on you, your usual flow and how you feel. With a light flow, youcan keep your menstrual swimsuit on for several hoursor even the day.

With a heavier flow and additional protection, you can keep your period underwear on all day. You'll just need to remember to change your additional protection regularly.

Is it suitable for all types of flows?

Yes, it is suitable for all types of flow, but also spotting, light urinary leaks and vaginal discharge.

For light to medium flows, you can use Perdième swimwear without any other menstrual protection.

If you have heavier absorption needs (heavy to bloody flows), we recommend using the swimsuit in addition to a cup or tampon. You're doubly safe.

How does it work?
Perdième Period Swimsuit Technology

Made up of 3 layers, the period swimsuit ensures discretion and safety.

1. The draining layer is made of polyamide which is both soft and absorbs the blood inside the jersey.

2. Below, the absorbent layer is made of organic cotton, healthy and effective in absorbing flows. Its particularity is that it does not swell in water.

3. The waterproof layer is made of Lyocell PUL, which is both leak-proof and has no ploc ploc effect. It is thin, flexible and discreet. You are on top!

Perdième swimsuits can absorb up to 10ML, or 1 to 2 medium tampons. This corresponds to light to medium flows.

If you have higher absorption needs, we recommend using the jersey in addition to a cup or tampon. You are doubly safe!

It's very simple. As with period panties, we recommend rinsing your swimsuit in clean water after use. Then you can put it in the washing machine at 30°. Let it dry before you can reuse it again. Be aware that the material of the swimsuit allows for quick drying, allowing you to have your swimsuit available again the next day.

When you spend some time at the beach or the pool, it is very practical to be able to change your swimsuits regularly - every 6 hours. By having 2 swimsuits available, this allows you to change your swimsuit during the day.
