Under-swimwear vs. Classic Menstrual Swimsuit: What's the difference?

It's common to confuse the two, but their uses meet different needs:

  • The classic menstrual swimsuit: It's an "all-in-one" swimsuit. The protection is integrated directly into the swimsuit's design (one-piece or bikini). You can only wear this specific model.
  • The menstrual under-swimsuit (The Perdième revolution): It's a "second skin" protection. Its strength lies in its versatility. It's much thinner than a classic swimsuit and completely invisible. The benefit:You retain the freedom to wear any swimsuit from your wardrobe (even that tiny Brazilian bikini or designer one-piece) while being protected. The technical advantage:Its cut is optimized to avoid creating bulk, ensuring total discretion, even under light-colored fabrics.

Questions fréquentes

Will the period under-swimsuit be visible under my bikini ?

Absolutely not. At Perdième, we have designed our under-swimwear with extra-flat seams and an ultra-stretch fabric. The "Black" model is ideal under dark colors, while the "Nude" model offers total invisibility under white, pastel, or openwork jerseys.

Does the under-swimwear swell in water?

No. Unlike disposable sanitary pads that absorb water and swell, our "Aqua-Safe" technology uses a hydrophobic membrane. It retains menstrual flow inside while preventing pool or sea water from entering the absorbent area.

What kind of flow can a swim brief absorb?

The Perdiem under-swimwear is ideal for light to moderate flows(equivalent to 1 or 2 tampons). It's perfect for the beginning or end of your cycle, spotting related to pre-menopause, or as an extra layer of protection with a cup for maximum leak-proof security.

Can I wear my under-swimwear on its own as a swimsuit bottom?

Yes, it's entirely possible! Its simple and elegant cut allows it to be worn alone as classic swim briefs. However, it has been specifically designed to be forgotten under another garment.

How should I care for my under-swimwear after swimming?

To preserve the effectiveness of the waterproof membrane, rinse it with fresh water as soon as you get out of the water (to remove chlorine or salt). Then machine wash it at 30°C without fabric softener, and let it air dry. Avoid tumble drying, which could damage the technical fabrics.
